Ila Rose

Eugene artist Ila Rose represented her hometown during this international festival and created a show-stopping, two-sided work in the parking lot of Elevation Bouldering Gym. The 40-foot high former sawdust silo sits at 348 W 3rd Avenue in the Whiteaker neighborhood. Only her second mural, Rose used the corner of the structure to paint a two-faced head of a woman with snakes in her hair. Geometric patterns and multiple hues ads depth and character to the figures in the work while stencils were used for the dramatic green and yellow backdrop. The tall building stands out to passersby who see a girl on one wall holding out her hand to greet the figure.
